Mombasa is lined with white sand beaches fringing the warm waters of the Indian Ocean that holds a world of spectacular coral reefs.

The coast is a place with an exotic history, its calm blue waters makes Mombasa beaches to have one of the world’s great playgrounds, with plenty of opportunities for water sports and sunbathing.

The half day tour will include a visit to the fort Jesus and Mwembe tayari Market

Mombasa has many hotels situated along its white sandy beaches as well as in the heart of town. The best hotels can be found along the North Coast, where hotel rooms are just yards away from the warm sandy beaches.

Most of the newer hotels are situated on the South Coast .

The tour includes visiting the Fort Jesus which is located on the edge of a coral ridge overlooking the entrance to the Old Port of Mombasa and was built in 1593 by the Portuguese to protect their trade route to India and their interests in East Africa.

Its interior comprises of torture rooms and prison cells where slaves were kept in captivity before being traded. Weapons such as canons, which were used to defend the fort from invading foreigners as well as rioting locals, can be seen both inside and outside of the fort.

On the 24th of October, 1958, Fort Jesus was declared a national entity in the custody of the Trustees of the Kenya National Parks.

Excavation was carried out, and the Fort became a Museum in 1962. The fort opens its gates for viewing in the morning and closes at dusk.

The Mwembe Tayari open-air market, the bustling fruit and vegetable market,the locals conduct the business in very unique way as compares to the western nations.

The vendors have a permitt from the local authorities to sell food including meat,fruits and vegetables,safari shoes and clothes. Also you will have chance to visit the Akamba Handicraft Centre is a wood factory in Changamwe area less than 20 metres, from the Port Ritz corner junction.

It is the biggest factory we have in Mombasa. It is an organization, which produce the very best out of a local wood.

Many Tourists each year tour this factory to observe men at work. It is mainly a labour work and also to see the many different kinds of woods we have in Kenya.

It is incredible what turns out to a very attractive souvenir getting started from a typical wood, and without conscious many tourists ends up buying lots of wood craft from the factory at a very special price! where you may buy souvenirs direct from the traditional Akamba wood carvers.Then you will be transferred to the hotel for lunch.
