Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Istanbul

Arrival  Istanbul. Meet and  assist at the airport. Transfer to your hotel. Overnight in Istanbul. (No meals)

Day 2:  Istanbul City Tour

Breakfast. Our journey begins in Istanbul, the only city in the world situated on two continents. Visit to the Haghia Sophia Church, the pride and glory of the Byzantine, Istanbul  Archaeological Museum ,the Blue Mosque, famous for its blue tiles, Byzantine Hippodrome, where once  chariot races were held. Lunch in traditional restaurant. Visit to the  Topkapi Palace, the famous residence of the Sultans (including  the Harem section) and to Grand Bazaar,  world’s largest covered bazaar with 4000 shops.  Return to  the  hotel  for  over night.

Day 3: Istanbul

Breakfast. In the morning, visit to the Spice Market, where locals  still shop for herbs and spices coming from all over the  world. Cross the Bosphorus by driving through the  Bosphorus Bridge to go over the Asian side of Istanbul. A visit to Beylerbeyi Palace, the white marble  summer residence of Ottoman Sultans used in the 19th century. After lunch a cruise by boat on Bosphorus, the unique winding strait separating two continents. Return to  the  hotel  for  over night.

Day 4:  Smyrna – Basilica Tour -Pergamon

After  breakfast transfer from hotel to Istanbul airport for flight to Izmir. Arrival in Izmir. Drive to ancient Smyrna, was the second one of the seven Christian churches in Asia Minor to which St. John the Divine wrote (Revelation l-11). Then we will  visit the Acropolis with its pagan temples and Altar of Zeus. Continue to the healing center, Aesculapius. Overnight in Pergamon. (Breakfast, dinner)

Day 5:  Thyatira – Sardis- Philadelphia- Pamukkale

After  breakfast we will  proceed to Thyatira, another one of the Seven Churches. See the remains of a Basilica and other ruins from the Roman Period. Depart for Sardes, another one of the Seven Churches mentioned by St. John. Continue to Philadelphia to, another one of the Christian congregations, and a city built in 2 BC by King Eumenos. Continue to PAMUKKALE (Hierapolis). Watch the sunset over the petrified waterfalls. Overnight in Pamukkale. (Breakfast, dinner)

Day 6:  Leodicea and Ephesus Tour

Breakfast . Visit HIERAPOLIS and then Laodicea before continuing to Ephesus. See the final abode of the where she spent her last years. Tour through ancient Ephesus to see the old synagogue, the theatre where St. Paul preached (Acts 10), the Library of Celsus and other sights. Overnight in Kusadasi. (Breakfast, dinner)

Day 7:  Kusadasi and Istanbul

Transfer to the airport for the flight to Istanbul and back to home.
