Detailed Itinerary

ay 1: Arrival Tunis
you will be met at Tunis Airport for the transfer to your 4-star accommodation at the Marina Palace in Hammamet Yasmine. Enjoy dinner at your hotel and make use of the facilities, including an outdoor and indoor swimming pool, spa and garden terrace.

Day 2: Hammamet – Nabeul
Depart Hammamet, stopping in the city center close to the bay, where the medina shows strong Spanish influences. Walk to the Spanish Fort and stroll the lively streets of the old city. Then, continue to Nabeul and visit a pottery shop and weekly market to purchase interesting souvenirs. Experience the everyday life of Tunisia. Return to the Marina Palace Hotel for your overnight stay.

Day 3: Carthage – Sidi Bou Said – Bardo 
After breakfast, drive by luxury coach to Carthage. Now a suburb of the capital, it was once the center of the Carthaginian Empire, set up in 814 BC as Rome’s biggest rival. Visit the Roman ruins of the Thermal Bath of Antonin, Punic Ports and National Museum.

Continue to the magnificent village of Sidi Bou Said to see Moorish houses of white, perched high on the hill. Go to the Barron d’Erlanger’s house at the Palace of Enejma Ezahra, and admire the stunning Arabic-Andalusian décor.

After lunch, continue your tour at the Bardo Museum to discover the most important archaeological museum of the Maghrebian countries. See the richest collection of Roman mosaics in the world.

Wander the souks and medina of the Old Town, marveling at the displays of djellaba and typical Tunisian chechia hats. Return to the Marina Palace Hotel for your overnight stay.

Day 4: Zaghouan – Tuburbo Majus – Dougga
This morning you will visit the northern town of Zaghouan in the Dorsale Mountains. Discover an ancient town, known for its water-springs and Roman Water Temple.

Next, visit the old Berber village of Tuburbo Majus, where you will see the best examples of Tunisian mosaics. Visit the ruins of the Roman thermal station at Cheylus. Then, depart for Teboursouk to enjoy lunch at Hotel Thugga.

Then, it’s time to explore the ruins of Dougga, one of the most interesting archaeological sites in Africa, and the most spectacular in Tunisia. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997, the city was probably the first capital of the Numidian Kingdom, and flourished during Roman and Byzantine rule. The ruins are spectacular, and give a strong impression of life in a Numidian town of the Romans. You will see the Roman Theatre, Capitol, Cistern, and Mausoleum, as well as remains of old markets, villas, tombs and more. Return to the Marina Palace Hotel for your last overnight stay.

Day 5: Hammamet – Tunis Airport
Breakfast in your hotel before your transfer to Tunis Carthage Airport for your onward flight.
