The Republic of Uganda is a landlocked country in East Africa and is one of the most beautiful countries in Africa, with fantastic natural scenery, Half of the world's remaining mountain gorilla population is in uganda.It is bordered on the east by Kenya, on the north by Sudan, on the west by the Democratic Republic of the Congo, on the southwest by Rwamda, and on the south by Tanzania. The southern part of the country includes a substantial portion of Lake Victoria, which is also bordered by Kenya and Tanzania.

Uganda takes its name from the Buganda kingdom, which encompassed a portion of the south of the country including the capital Kampala
.
The official languages are English and Swahili although multiple other languages are spoken in the country.

The country enjoys a pleasant temperatures all year round with temperatures between 20 and 27 degrees by day, owing to its position along the equator. Night temperatures vary between 15 and 19 degrees. The country enjoys two rain seasons- around mid-year and towards the end of the year.

You have to take precaution against malaria by taking anti-malarial two weeks before arrival. All kinds of anti-malarias are available in drug shops and there are white doctors who have been in the country for many years who will treat malaria successfully. . Nearly all-African doctors are good at treating most tropical diseases, always take precautions such as using mosquito repellents, creams or sleeping under treated bed-nets. You could also put on long sleeved shirts, socks and occasionally use sprays in your room. You are meanwhile advised to drink bottled mineral water, although tap water in most places can be drunk without problems. Some visitors to Uganda find a problem coping with fresh vegetables or fruit salads served in hotels, but the problem is usually not that of parasital infection but a change in climate for visitors. You should be able to drink most fresh juices and salads served in most decent hotels. Otherwise washing vegetables or fruits in a tincture of vinegar or salt is recommended. You might want to swim in most of the lakes or rivers, but a precaution should be taken against Schistomiasis (bilharzias).

Most foreign nationals will need a visa in order to enter Uganda. I ist quite easy for tourist to obtain the visa for the Pearl of Africa.

You can obtain visas in two manners: You can apply and purchase a visa abroad in many countries such as Belgium, Canada, China, Denmark, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Russian Federation, South Africa, United Kingdom, USA. This is usually done by applying either in person, with two passport pictures and an application that you can download from the Embassy website in your country of origin. You can also look for instructions as to how to mail it to them with express mail of some kind and receive it back to you in a short period of time.
The second and easier way is for tourists to apply for the visa at the point of entry such as the border or Entebbe Airport. No pictures are required, lowering your cost and no mail is required. Just fill out your entrance form and fill in the passport information and dates, and that is your application. For most tourists the cost will 50 USD upon entry and cover up to 90 days.

Requirements:

Valid Passport issued by your country of origin.
International Health Certificate showing that you have had a yellow fever vaccination for some nationalities.
Return Ticket to country of origin is also necessary.
Enough funds or ways to obtain funds: In some rare situations, you might be asked if you have sufficient funds with you while you are in Uganda.

Custom Information for entrance and exit into and from Uganda:

You can bring with you, 400 cigarettes or 500 grams of tobacco. One bottle of spirits or wine, and or 2 1/2 liters of beer, 1oz of perfume.
You can take out of country most souvenirs, items that will need special permits and are restricted are game trophies, tooth, bone, horn, shells, claws, skin, hair, feathers, or any other items requiring export permits.
