Hemingways Watamu is a luxury tropical retreat on one of Kenya’s finest beaches, it is a 74 room resort Hotel overlooking the stunning pure white beach of Watamu Marine Park.

These rooms are categorized into superior rooms, deluxe rooms, junior suites and executive suites.It is affiliated to Small Luxury hotels of the world and also a member of the prestigious Chaine des Rotisseurs.

Recreation: A wide range of cuisine is available at Hemingways ie the sophisticated recipes with delicate sauces to simple cooking of the finest ingredients. There are buffets on Wednesday and Saturday evenings and Sunday Curry Dinner and these include Mongolian, Italian and Indian specialties.

Live cooking is a major feature including not only main dishes but also the pasta and salad stations.

Hemingways has excellent conference facilities and provides as part of the standard set-up in the conference room, Overhead Projector, TV, Video, PA-system, Flip charts with markers, pens, pads. LCD Projectors are available at additional cost. Any other specialized equipment that may be required can be sourced upon request by the guest.

HEMINGWAYS FISHING: Hemingways is widely known as the ideal venue for big-game fishing trips, owing to the diverse nature of the Indian Ocean. The Watamu area boasts a large number of fishing grounds of widely differing nature, all within a short steam of port. These include oceanic tidal rips, shallow bands, and undersea mountains.

The fishing season is from July through to mid April. The southeast wind (Kusi) blows from mid March to sometime in November and is cooler than the northeast wind (Kaskazi) which blows the rest of the time. The seas are warmer and calmer during the Kaskazi months.

The main Billfish (Sailfish and Marlin) season runs from November to mid/late March but Sailfish and Black Marlin often come inshore in numbers in August.

Hemingways supports a number of local conservation initiatives like the Watamu Marine Conservation, Gedi Ruins, the Turtle Watch and offers a range of activities such as snorkelling, Dolphin trips, bird watching at Mida Creek and fascinating walks through Arubuko Sukoke Forest.
