ITINERARY
Day 1 Arrival
Arrive at Bole International Airport and our representative will meet you and take you to your hotel. For morning arrivals, optional, Visit Trinity Cathedral, resting place of Emperor Haile Selassie. Visit the National Museum, home of the 3 million year old skeleton “Lucy.” Visit the Ethnographic Museum, a great introduction to Ethiopian culture and history. Lunch at the oldest hotel in Ethiopia “Taitu”. Visit Entoto Hills and Sheromeda market on the way. visit the Mercato, one of Africa’s largest outdoor markets, and other sites of your interest.

Day 2 Drive to Awash ( 5 hours)
Drive to Awash National Park with stops at the Camel markets and observing the Hararge plateaus. Arrive Awash and take an evening game drive in Awash National Park and visit an area frequented by hyenas. located in the Great Rift Valley. Many species of birds are found here: African Orange-bellied Parrots, Bustards, Weavers,Hoopoe, Yellow-throated Serine, Red-fronted Barbet, Pygmy Batis,Lesser-striped Swallow, and the House Martin. The park also boasts a variety of mammals: the Anubis Baboon, Colobus Monkey,Black-backed Jackal, Bat-eared Fox, Egyptian Mongoose, Warthog,Beisa Oryx, Soemmering’s Gazelle, Lesser Kudu, Salt’s Dikdik, etc. Awash Falls lodge

Day 3 Drive to Bale Mountains
Drive from Langano to the Bale Mountains National Park. Arrive at the park headquarters in the afternoon, in time for a leisurely afternoon hike, possibly spotting two endemic mammals that frequent the area: Menelik’s Bushbuck and the Mountain Nyala. Birds in this area include the Blue-Winged Goose, the Spot-Breasted Lapwing, the Abyssinian Long Claw, the Wattled Ibis, the Black- Headed Siskin, Rouget’s Rail, and numerous other species.

Day 4 Bale Mountains
Excursion to The Sanetti Plateau is the best place to see theEthiopian Wolf – the world’s rarest canid species. Migratory birdssuch as the Ruddy Shelduck and Wattled Crane should also bevisible. The Sanetti Plateau; the world’s largest expanse of Afro-Alpine moorland. Afternoon visit the Harena The Harenna Escarpment towers 2000m above the edge of the forest and provides stunning views. Return to Goba make a short drive to Hawassa for an overnight there. Haile resort

Day 5 Drive to Addis Ababa ( 4 hours)
Morning, visit the fish market in Hawassa. Drive bak to Addis Ababa with stops at the Rift Valley Lakes of Ethiopia know for their endemic Birds and other natural beauty. Arrive and optional, souvenir shopping. In the evening, Enjoy a Farewell dinner at a traditional Ethiopian restaurant featuring dancers and musicians representing some of the country’s many ethnic groups. Transfer to airport for late night departure or additional hotel night booked upon request.
